I wrote in some time ago in an effort to start a discussion about why people get jealous and to share my experience with repeatedly losing my patience with people who seem to "turn on me" once good things happen to me.

I didn't get very far with the Forum nor did I get far with counseling or attempting to talk to others about it. I did however, find relief in just reading about relationships and emotional IQ.

As I had feared, when it comes to this topic, most people, especially women, seem to just accept those feelings as part of friendships. However, 'seem' is the perfect word for it. Most women are hurt over toxic friendships. The difference for me is that I don't tolerate it. Surveys show that most women will remain friends with someone who has hurt their feelings just to avoid losing a friend. I've found that I'm firm (maybe too firm) in my principles that true friends are always happy for each other. While I am certainly not alone in this issue, it feels that way when people are unwilling to discuss their worst feelings.

No, I've never been jealous of someone else's good fortune. I have a very healthy self esteem.

I am posting this because there could be someone else who feels this way.

Jealousy = Insecurity and should be worked on just the way any other mental and emotional abberations are,
