I guess it depends on what kind of things your girlfriend likes. You could pick a place that you both enjoy and ask her there, I have heard a lot of people talk about purposing at the place they first met their gf. But like I said it depends on what your gf likes. For instance my husband purposed to me at home because I am horribly shy and he knew I didn't want to be around other people when he asked me.

Good luck

Bebop -I know you mean well but he only asked for ideas. (and I'm not trying to be rude or mean either).

Personally, I like an intimate setting. No bid hoopla or asking at a baseball game on the jumbotron....that's too much. But every girl is different. Some like the big show of asking in a restaurant so she can scream and get free cake lol What kind of things is your girlfriend into?

My friend's bf just asked her to marry him and this is what he did: he initially said they were just going to go on a weekend trip somewhere. Then I guess he had the hotel leave a bouquet of roses with a ring sitting atop one of the roses so thats what was there when they got in the room. I thought that was pretty cute.

My cousin's husband did the coolest thing- He paid a movie theatre to spell out the words: "Will you marry me,(her name)?" on the sign outside where they display the titles of the movies playing.
I gave you my answer, & now I'm going to lecture you- bebop's right! If she's really the one, she will still be there in a few years. And if she isn't, you'll remember this & thank me then, even if I'm pissing you off right now!
