Hey guys, just a general question...

Over the past two years I have had an increasingly severe issue seeking attention from the opposite sex, even though I am extremely mentally and physically attracted to her and completely full filled sexually, it went as far as me cheating on my spouse approximately 2 months ago. We are currently separated with hopes that I get things worked out mentally.

What type of counseling would be best?

Relationship, general counseling, psychiatrist, psychologist.

I have tried implementing various self control techniques but nothing seems to work and this problem is obviously creating an inability for us to continue and maintain a successful and happy relationship.

Seek out a counselor who specializes in sex addicts. Just my two cents.

Hi ~ If it were me, I'd choose a psychologist. I've gone to every other type "therapist" and I prefer the psychologist. They seem to interact more, and get involved more in the session. I was much more comfortable. Just me maybe, but that's what i'd do.

Good luck. Hope things work out. Peace, Lee
