He is very supportive, but I can see it is so hard on him. Part of me knows that he has to choose his own reaction to my mental state, and part of me feels just plain guilty. Anyone have some positive suggestions on things that we with mental illnesses can do to make life easier on our mates? Thanks!

Not sure what support he has...NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program is a free, 12-week course for family caregivers. This would probably be helpful to know he is not alone and learn to make sure he is taking care of himself.
