You can't do a whole lot other than make sure she isn't alone when she doesn't want to be. Some people have a hard time reaching out, so make sure that you initiate contact even if she doesn't call you herself. Invite her to the movies, invite her over for dinner, send her a card...
It'll take time - nobody can expedite the healing process. Just showing her that you care will go a long way.

I agree with LMo...having another who loved Gareth around may help her to talk if she needs to.

Let her know that you are there for her whenever she needs someone. She may not come to you but as long as she knows she has a friend in you this will make things easier I think. Include her in your activities and make her feel special by making her dinner, sending her cards or whatever just to show that you care about her and know what she's going through.
All this will take time. And the recovery process is gonna be really hard for both of you. Support her as much as possible. Call her out of the blue just to say hi and to check on her...stuff like that will help. I hope this will help you out some.
