I've recently been communicating & having a long distance relationship with a man who I've known for about 18 years. We lost touch over the past 10-12 years, but reconnected on Facebook this past year. Unfortunately, he has been very good friends with my son's father for the past 18 years also. He claims he is worried about my ex finding out about our relationship due to their friendship.

Anyway, we started talking and catching up through email & then text messages and eventually the talking turned to flirting. He confessed to me that he always had a thing for me when we were in our 20's and that he still really likes me.

We started to make plans for me to visit him in Florida where he has been living for the past year since his job took him there from our hometown. He ended up coming home for a few days last month & we got together. We had a wonderful date that lasted all night & then we got together again a few days later before he left to go back home. Since then, we have texted or emailed daily. We talk about how much we like each other & how we can't wait to see each other again. The word 'love' has not come up & I have been very careful to not push things and only go with the flow.

Well, this week he came back home for some training for work. He came over Monday night after work, we had sex and had a wonderful few hours together. He texted me later that night and everything was fine. I emailed him to tell him what a nice time I had, etcetera. He replied and said we'd talk the next day (as usual). I replied and mentioned that I'd be purchasing my plane ticket for my trip down to Florida next month which we've been discussing.

Since I sent that email talking about purchasing my plane ticket, I have not heard one word from him. I emailed him and texted him yesterday to see if he made it home & I haven't heard anything. This is very unusual because we talk daily. He always responds to me within a few hours.

I don't understand. Has he had a change of heart all of a sudden? I don't get it. Am I blatently being ignored? How do you go from one extreme to another overnight? He went from contacting me daily to nothing. I realize it's only been a few days, but this is not like him. What does this mean?

Hopefully he is all right? Maybe thinking things were moving a little fast? Hard to say, like Byz said "Time will tell" Hopefully he will at least let you know he made it home ok, He owes you that at least!

Still too early. Give it some time and try to remain positive although I know that can be difficult. I hope by now this has been resolved to your delight.
