Hi gang!

My wife has spent a lot of time this week looking after her sick sister (staying with their mother) and the sister's sick children. She's hardly spent any time at home, and when she did come home to see me, she fell asleep.

What gets my goat is her attitude of patient resignation. If only she would say, "God this is awful! How I wish I were home with you! What a shambles! And I wish that mother of mine weren't so completely useless."

She may know that but it does not do any good to say it. Also she is probably so completely worn out that all she can do is come home and sleep. I don't know all the family issues but hopefully this will end soon. Sounds like you both are worn out in many ways.

Thinking of you both

Thanks!

This may not be the most mature solution, but I goaded her a bit more and she did show me her anger. I feel much better now.

Alas, it's not over. It will be another three weeks before the sister's husband arrives, and who knows how much longer she will be sick. Let's hope the husband is in good health!
