I have a lot of problems with communication. My mother tells me to "get over" my depression, my husband gets uncomfortable when I talk to him about feelings, my sisters are dealing with their own problems. I don't have any close friends that I feel I can talk to. So, I go to group therapy and just listen and my psychiatrist wants me to go back to ECT. I just can't seem to find anyone who is willing to listen.

It sounds as though when you go to group therapy you need to talk - not just listen. Also, if you are struggling with depression, I hope you will post over in the Depression forums. Lots of people who will listen and offer support (and advice if you ask for it).

I suspect your mom doesn't understand what depression is (her response is typical to what I heard in my life) and it is possible that your husband husband is uncomfortable because he doesn't understand it and possibly wishes there was some way to "fix" it. (My experience has been that men want to fix things and are rarely good at just listening).

I wish you the best. I too struggle with depression and sometimes it isn't easy.

Caretaker is right, it is not that you can't communicate, it is more that other people just don't understand something they have never felt or struggled with themselves.
And Yes, husbands have a hard time dealing with things they can't fix. And they get upset when you talk about it because they don't know how to react to it or what to say that will help or fix you. Most men are problem solvers and fixers and if they can't fix something or solve it they truely get frustrated. But that is not your fault.

I am glad you found PC and your actually talking, keep that up, that will really help because there are others here that DO understand the struggle and will offer you support and understanding.
