Two people have pulled up their shirts to discuss their bellies and how their pants fit with me. One was my boss. I almost threw up in my mouth looking at that gnarly mess. What in the world is the matter with people?!?!?!?!? I was sitting there working when on two separate occasions two (admittedly both emotionally needy) people showed me their bellies! If they were puppies, it would have been cute and I'd have rubbed their bellies! But these were adults! What in the world is the matter with people?!?!?!?! And what invisible sign do I wear on my back that MUST say Kick me, I'm too polite to say "Get the hell away from me!"?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I'm going to get a big brown paper grocery sack and put it over my head the next time someone pulls a stunt like this.

Good grief! LOL How disgusting! I guess some people just have no sense. Like you said, who in the heck wants to see THAT mess?? It's like looking at a pile of cellulite! LOL
![]() I think next time, I'd just swivel my chair around, and not even look. (if I had time! ) LOL Some people are so uncouth. Take care! Hugs, Lee ![]() |

Oh, I'd do the "Get the hell away from me!" line for sure! That is disgusting. Or, laugh at them! That will get their shirts pulled down.

Hmm, I think it's inappropriate, I don't understand why people do things like this. Different opinions of acceptable behavior I guess. I would not like this either.
However I don't think it's the gnarly mess or as someone said cellulite that is the problem. That's kinda like saying only beautiful people should be seen. At work tho, not really appropriate. I might do that with my sister or friend, but I wouldn't lift my shirt and ask about my pant fit with my boss, I am sure he/she could have asked someone else, someone closer. I'd have an indelible magic marker close at hand, to make the mark of Zorro!
ETA - Sorry. I don't know why people would do this at the office. it's inappropriate and could be considered sexual harrassment, whether it's same or different gender from you. Do you feel you can't speak up, your job would be endangered? You "should" try to handle it as simple and professionally as possible? My last boss once came in to my cubiccle and like pulled UP his pants while he yelled at me (while I was sitting down), it was disgusting and humiliating and I wondered if he realized what he was doing. Again, I'm sorry for not taking this situation seriously. It feels horrible to be in a work situation where your bosses are nuts - it often replays feelings of helplessness from childhood abuse, it did for me, which makes it even harder to handle in the present. I have been out of it for a while, so I forgot. my (very very) bad. Last edited by unaluna; Feb 27, 2012 at 02:37 PM. |

I don't think you are funny. I also don't think it is funny that my boss raises her shirt, and pulls down the waistband of her pants and demands that I look at her naked flesh. I'm not working in a strip club; I work in an office and I'm trying to work. I'm not there to make some attention hungry woman feel good about herself--that's harassment! I'm sick and tired of being subjected to ill-bred, disgusting behavior by people who think it is all right to visit their filth on others.
