My coworkers said I make them nervous whenever I act like the world's gonna end over every little thing. Sometimes I would spontaneously sigh or wear a scowl on my face. I only do that in the back room though, not the sales floor. I don't mean to really. Work sometimes get stressful. My boss said that's becoming an issue and she can't have someone like that on her team. How do I stop stressing over everything?

Should I fake it till I make it, so to speak?

Try cognitive behavioral therapy.

Read some of those articles about irrational thinking and how to change it.

If you have an android phone you can even download an application on your phone.

You just need to retrain your brain to think realistically.

Hi, me again! This was a biggie for me. This went back to childhood, as my mother DID make everything a matter of life or death. She had to win every battle, from how much I ate, to how loud I talked, to who my friends were, to when I pooped. And if I upset her, she wished she was dead. Nice. It's hard to escape that kind of "basic training" by just "deciding to change your mind". That's why people go into therapy for a long time, it's like taking a dog who's been abused and making them NOT afraid of people - you have to delete the fear that's been TRAINED into you, not just stop the barking! So that's why Dr Phil talks about family being "your soft place to land" - but many of us don't have that. T's become our substitute soft place until we can form other relationships? Altho PC has helped me, I feel like it's my community, like people understand me here, and that helps me IRL.

I don't try to win every battle. I'm actually very compliant. I just get so easily annoyed with everything. Like when I was temping my product and it didn't reach a certain temperature, I stressed over it. I wish I knew how I got that way. More importantly, how I could stop. I could try cutting caffeine lol.

I can get easily aggravated at work but lately that's because other people I work with get stressed out about something and don't know how to communicate so then their attitude rubs off on me then I'm seeing red all day. Not as bad as I used to be.

Exactly! I get stressed out and it rubs off on ppl, which makes them uncomfortable. That's become an issue and my boss said it's critical that I step up this week.

I did awesome the day before and my lead put in a good word for me. No freak out or anything. If only I could just be more organized.
Thanks for this!
