I noticed this is advertising another site.

Is this a good idea to be encouraging people to check out a dating site in this forum?

That sounds to me like its courting disaster.

Hmm, I noticed that there were no replies to this post, and since I am in a posting kind of mood, I thought I'd put my two cents in!

I noticed this ad also, and I was a bit surprised to see it, but as far as it being good or bad I can't really say. I think it may be good for those who are lonely and looking for a relationship, I have known people who have had success with personal ads and such. I think it depends on the person and how well they are as far as handling being in a dating/relationship situation. Some people need to work on themselves before getting into dating, or a relationship. I don't know, I found the colonblow ad to be kind of strange, but that's another thread altogether, lol. Actually there are a few ads for colon cleansing, but I don't want to get off the topic here! My general opinion is "why not"? Maybe it (the dating site) will do some good for someone.

I just noticed it myself - how long has it been there? I'm way behind on reading the forums so it may be new... or else I just never noticed it!

i don't know how long it has been there either...

but as for wondering if it's a good idea to have an ad for a "dating service" here...why not? dr. phil is now a big part of Match.com. i can't see it being any different here than on a blog site or something else.

it isn't as if crazy people don't date. if we can't handle an online dating service,(of which there are thousands) how are we handling a mental health forum? (don't accuse me of being biased, remember i'm just as nutty as everyone else here)(and if "nutty or crazy" bothers you, how about "unbalanced"?)

i just don't see a problem with it. i'm sure others would agree and others won't. toodles, pat

yes, I suppose you all have made very good points!

I was more musing on it than anything anyways, I'm certainly not adverse to it.

The concern that I had was that there may be some rather vulnerable individuals on this type of board who may be drawn into old patterns or even dangerous activities by it - But then again, that can happen anywheres I guess can it not?

And yes, we definetly date!
