This question, is posed in search of insight, of how I may be perceived by others. Although my diagnosis is relatively recent, I have been afflicted with PTSD all my life.

I think PTSD is one of those dx that I always associated with people who have been to war when in reality it encompasses so much more than that (I'm now more aware of this). I think it's just like anything else: if someone would tell me they have an affliction of any mental disorder, I'd be accepting of it and would proceed with caution. some people see any mental disorder as a red flag or stop sign but I'm not like that.
man, I wish someone I dated would actually admit to having a mental disorder. I've dated many men with depression/PTSD/anxiety but none of them had ever sought any help because they couldn't admit a "weakness." *sigh*
