My partner and I separated Dec 3 after being together 14 months. Gifts were purchased for both families as well as for eachother. I dont know whether to go to his families Christmas function and him to mine. Also, do I/we go ahead and give the gifts that were bought for each family and ourselves? I really need help with this. He was the one that cheated on me, so my heart is very heavy and I dont know what to do. Appreciate any answer.
Thank you!

Alot depends on if you're staying friends or not. Personally, I don't see any reason to give gifts to each other, especially since he CHEATED on you! I wouldn't want ANYTHING to do with the creep. I'd take the gifts back to the store, and get my money back.

He does NOT deserve any gift of ANY KIND -- he deserves a hammer upside the head in my opinion. And why give his parents any gifts -- they brought up this moron. Obviously they didn't instill him with any morals.

Get your money back sweetie. Don't waste it on anyone like that. God bless and take care.

I respectfully disagree. You got gifts for his family, etc because you felt it was appropriate. They are not responsible for his mistakes.

If you'd still like to give them the gifts, I'd either drop them off yourself to them, or ask your ex how the two of you should handle the exchange for the families.

Of course, if you don't like them, and only bought out of a sense of obligation, then I'm with Leed. Get your money back and go out and have some fun. lol.
Thanks for this!
