I was curious to know what you all think about dating someone who also has mental issues. i have OCD and ADHD. I recently met a guy who also has those. would that be a good thing to be with someone who has the same issues because you can understand each other on a deeper level? or would it just complicate things?

Honestly? Both.

Yes, there is a greater understanding there, but boy can it become complicated when one or the other is in a bad mental space, particularly if it happens at the same time.
Thanks for this!

Sometimes all you can do is try it out & see if it works.....I would imagine that it could have it's good & bad points......good that you understand what each other is feeling.....bad when you are both in a bad place at the same time because usually when one is in a bad place all understanding & sympathy goes out the door & only self is in view.

Hard to judge things like that without really knowing the personalities involved outside the mental illness issues because that can make a huge difference also.
