Some time in the next few months, I am going to make the move to separate from my husband. This has to happen; I recently had a major PTSD flashback with him as the subject. I didn't realize I had so much fear built up over how he treated me when I was having real problems.

My question is this:I moved to Idaho about 18 months ago. I work from home and haven't really met anyone. I need ideas of support groups/shelters that I can seek out. I have to have somewhere I can go if it gets dirty. I may check out Al-Alon as a way of meeting people. My mom had a major drinking problem and even though I am divorced from her it gave me a lot of issues.

In anyone what thoughts or ideas of nationwide groups or places to research, let me know. I really appreciate it.

Being in Australia I can't offer helpful ideas - when I finally escaped my abusive ex I was helped to enter a women's refuge, which was very supportive, and later accepted invitation to a church group which led onto amazingly healing friendships etc.

But I would like to offer you my little bit of love and light to help you through the next week, and the next, and beyond ...

I'm faced with the same situation, having to leave, relocate & no support. It helps when you know people do care & there are others like us. I'm trying to start a forum under social groups. I'll send you an invite. Good luck

Thanks Shez, I will take a look at what you've looked up I'm pretty good at researching, but I've been working nonstop and I thought someone might have some specific groups to look for. I will out your work to work.
