Hello everybody. I don't feel well-liked on here and bet many people who have read my older posts are glad I haven't posted in more than a year. I just haven't found anywhere else online that may be appropriate to post this.
It seems ironic to me that RoboHub would provide reassurance that computers, AIs, and robots will NOT be smarter than well-educated adult human beings by no later than 2029 as Ray Kurzweil claims. I do feel a lot better after reading their post. It is getting harder both online and off to avoid news about technological advances, especially in AI & robotics. I often get scared that these technological advances will prevent me from experiencing romance the way everyone did before these technologies were even imagined, let alone invented. When I finally experience romance, I want absolutely NO electronics between me and my partner. Both she and I must remain 100% organic human beings for a LIFETIME, even if we live past 2045 AD when Kurzweil predicts the Singularity, which is likely if I end up with a partner my own age. The scariest thing I read was FutureOfSex.net blog. There they show many products that might make people not want to actually touch each other directly without electronics anymore. I just discovered that about a month ago and am avoiding it like the plague. |

APV,
Just a few questions, e.g. your age now? single or otherwise committed relationship? Are you 'into' Kurzweil's energetically ushering in of this supposed 'The Singularity' by reason of intense fascination? If so, perhaps one would expect to likely greet the time still singular in relationship status, with no fully flesh & blood woman? Dunno. Just my thought. |

I am 30 and single. I am not at all 'into' Kurzweil's energetically ushering in 'the Singularity'. The concept does not induce fascination but rather FEAR and HOPELESSNESS in me. Every time I go Googling for reassurance I find very little as I mentioned at the start of this thread.
