I will try to keep it as short as I can. Met my ex bf and everything was great, for three months or so. When I say great, he did used to keep saying to me how much I meant to him and then finish off the sentence with 'what will I do when you go' (I was due to have a short study break in another city). We got closer and I thought things were really really good. I knew he had cyclothymia when I met him. After three months he began a really bad period of depression and at first ended it with me saying 'he was no good to me while like this' - this then turned into insults about me not being caring enough and too cold. Then it became that we had nothing in common ... even insulted me about being a vegetarian and I had insults about me 'trying to enforce my lifestyle on everyone else' by tutting whenever he ate meat etc - I am the only vegetarian I know and certainly do not 'tutt' or try and enforce my eating preferences on anyone.
This seemed such a flimsy reason to end things so I hung on in there over the last Xmas period and he eventually asked me to spend NYE with him - and promptly broke up with me at 10pm saying that I made him feel fat, ugly and a philistine. Despite m reassurances he said that we had nothing in common, I needed a vegetarian 'creative' type. Took me months to get over him as he was talking about our future etc just a few weeks before the break up. Fast forward four months and he came back into my life. Citing that he had realised 'I was good for him'. Again it was great for 6 weeks, he introduced me to his friends, talked lots about our future - really positive. Then he has another episode and I am dumped via text the next day. Citing different things this time. This time I bore him to tears, he doesn't now what to talk to me about, we have nothing in common, we don't have the same music tastes - the list went on - culminating in the fact that to quote 'I didn't even cook him effing cooked breakfast!!'. SO again, I tried to reason, told him that I loved him, that he had been busy making plans with me etc. He wasn't having any of it. Fast forward a month of no contact. He has now started 'liking' some of my stuff on Facebook. Its the most random stuff so I am just wondering if it is using the proverbial stick to hurt me with or if he is trying to reach out and is sorry - Im so confused - sorry about the long rambling message. Just wondering if anyone else has any thoughts on the matter or can advise? |

Just because he has Bipolar doesn't mean all his actions are due to having a mental illness.
He sounds like a not so nice guy/ lousy human. Why did you keep giving him chance after chance? I am glad he is now your "ex" I have Bipolar. I don't treat my husband nor friends in such an ugly manner. Welcome to PC ![]()

Thanks guys - a further month on and still 'liking' every profile pic on FB but no real contact. I guess reading back that it was just not meant to be and get over the devastation he has caused

Does FaceBook have a block or unfriend option? I am not on FaceBook. Might be wise in this case just to keep him out of your head.
