Growing old without children

Talk about your premonitions, I just found out today that I have PCOS so my chances for fertility are slim at best. How do I feel? Angry - i was told my ultrasound was fine and I wasn't told at any point afterwards that something looked abnormal. My doctor wouldn't have told me either had I not dragged it out of him.

I feel upset that I don't really have a lot of choice now - my decision regarding children remains unchanged although now it's not really a decision. More of a coincidence. That angers me.

Now it seems like that has flipped on its head and that everyone must respect the babies and children and well behaved adults have less and less rights. I have actually feared confronting an adult with a poorly behaved child. Once I was in the company of another who was in fact brave enough to tell the mother to control her child. I wanted to hug him!

LOTS of people think that spit-up, spoiled diapers, and screaming babies are just SOOO cute! I think I've seen enough facebook posts about baby poop to last me 5 lifetimes. I think this is why I stick to childless friends!

Yes, I was taught to be quiet in public.

Nowadays, if kids are allowed to scream and be noisy in public, with no consideration for others, I cringe at the type of self-centered, arrogant adults they are likely to be. And it's not like we need more of THOSE people in the world....And also nobody in authority ever tells these boisterous parents and kids to pipe down. They are probably afraid of getting a hostile or even violent reaction, like getting shot. And that's even more sad.

Yeah, I can't stand those b***** soccer moms tailgating me in their SUV's. I can FEEL their stress, as they rush around trying to do everything, including taking care of the kids. Why did you have all those kids anyway?

I'm at the age where having children no longer appeals to me. My primary regret is other siblings have had children as another feather in their cap of success, and always make their children the focus of any family gatherings or discussions. When we were children, we'd be ushered to a back room to entertain ourselves while the adults did their adult things.

The sound of a jackhammer or leaf blower is more tolerable to me than a screaming infant. As loud as those things are, they can't rival a screaming infant.

I can't stand loud noises of any kind actually.
