I just wanted to let everyone know that I do have one good thing in my life that gives me hope and makes me want to hold on and get better and grow and be a better person... My best friend. He's incredible. I have never had anyone like him in my life, someone who cares for me without expecting anything in return. He is the most dependable person I have, right now, and our friendship was actually an accident... Although I do get anxious and stressed about him/our friendship, I value it more than anything else, and I truly don't know what I'd do without him. He's so good to me, and I believe that God put him in my life to give me a reason to smile and hold on...
Do you have a friend/family member who you see as the one good thing in your life? Someone who gives you a reason to wake up every morning and makes you smile when you're particularly depressed?
I can't explain how incredible he is for me, or how thankful I am for him, but this is a start, and I thought that it may just get others thinking about the important people in their lives, as well...

Thanks for this!

Thanks, CrazyGirl. I am blessed that I have a number of friends and family members I am grateful for. I am glad to hear that you have this special friend.

Amen to that, Jimmy Rich! My faith has helped me some. Also, it is always great to have loved ones who you know genuinely care about you. I have one, and that is really what has helped me get through everything. If it wasn't for him, I don't know what I would do... Really...

Well, this thread reminds me of back when my best friend was just my best friend...
Not the man I love.
Not my self-harm trigger.
Not the most recent guy to break my heart.
Not a partaker in a secret romance.
Not the man who doesn't want me.
...
I miss the simpler times... </3
