I haven't had contact with my parents for a year now (my choice--long story), but with the holidays here I've found myself missing them. So this morning I emailed my mom pictures of my son decorating the tree. I didn't write anything, because I still don't know what to say to them.
That was three hours ago, and now my anxiety is so high that I keep bursting into tears. Everything is making me cry, and my heart is in my throat. Why is this so hard? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

What do you fear? You have been brave to make this step.

I'm not sure what I'm afraid of, to tell you the truth. Maybe it's hearing that I hurt them by cutting off contact. Or maybe it's that I fear having expectations of them again. Sigh. I wish I knew! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm going through something similar. Hugs stay strong. Try not to think about it, you extended an olive branch the ball is in there court. About their expectations remember why you broke contact with them and remember what you are going to change in the way you handle them.
