Did you ever build up someone's confidence only to have them dump you after they realize they have an ego after all?

That used to happen to me in school with friends -- I would be friends with the kids that didn't have that many other friends and sooner or later get dumped when they decided to hang out with the popular kids. It definitely sucks!

Sometimes I think this is what happened with my ex, the change was so drastic.

Probably not though, more likely I just fell for his bait.
