How do i deal with my mother in law. She just wants to put people down all the time. Her subject for now is the 28 year old lad (not related) who has just married the girl he loves. Huge church wedding..BUT the girl has a baby to a previous boyfriend, shes pregnant again, and his parents arent happy about it. I dont believe this story. I think she just likes to talk nasty.
I just want to say WHO CARES, if they are happy, which they obviously are, then fantastic, i wish them well.
I have to visit this nasty 72 year old woman again over the holiday period. My H knows/hears how she is, but its his mum. She wonders why we dont visit often.
Help me please to keep my mouth shut.!!!! Im well known for being openly opinionated to harsh cruel people, i dont understand them. I hate it, it costs nothing to be nice.
ps. She doesnt know about my MI..

so why are you keeping your opinions to yourself? just say them in a nice way and don't be harsh about it. there are kind ways to express differences in opinions. yu just be tactful about it. think before you speak.
