There is something that bothers me lately. I mean not to sound cold hearted or selfish-but here goes.
I am sharing an apartment with a person. This person is a "clutterbug." What stuck out first, is this person hardly ever washes their hands. Like goes from the bathroom directly to the kitchen and prepares food, then consumes it. Then, due to the clutter this person keeps around them, they are always tripping. I cleaned this person's area once and within one hour, their was a circle of clutter and debris surrounding them-like a personal firewall. The thing I noticed though, that really is starting to bug me is this person does not use items-for instance a desk and a chair. I watched it sit unused for 3 months-except to pile magazines and papers on it. This person stated that since they never use it, I could. I offered to buy it, but they refused to sell. So after two days, whenever I sit at the desk to work on anything-they instantly need to come over and get something. It is disrupting. I do not know if they are consciously doing it. Yet, it is frustrating. Just looking to understand what may be going on. |

I am no expert, but OCD expresses itself more often in ways of hoarding then minimalism. That constant fear of throwing things out, a "what if i need this?". It sounds like they need to be in control of their own space. I'd say that lookin into Obsessive Compulsive Hoarding is your best bet.
