My question is how do you know when you spot a fake person?

Why I ask is because sometimes I wonder about this person that I had met not to long ago. I do understand that we all have our insecurities and weakness that may interfere time to time and people even don't realize how they behave may seem as fake and then read later about signals you maybe fake and feel bad.

I think the key word is Time
Time will tell if the person is a fake or not

Yes, that is true.

This person has their ups and downs. But if I would keep focusing on them guess who would be come the fake one. ME, because of fear that doesn't need to be there.

Plus, this person has told me many of times they love my laughs and love the fact that I laugh a lot and I mean A LOT. I know it's a defense mechanism I have. Plus, I love making others laugh, if I see them down I want to make them laugh; if it doesn't work... it doesn't work. They know that too.

I love making others laugh, if I see them down I want to make them laugh;

Then how can you be a fake if you do enjoy laughing ..

Are you still dating the guy at work , is this who your talking about .
I remember you going on a date with him , and you both liked each other .

Yes, it is that guy. And like someone in that last post said he probably knew you from observing at work before asking you out.

I can tell you we BOTH seem to have similar anxiety issues, mine may not be as bad due to self help. If one of ours kicks in then maybe it cause the other to behave back the same.

I think what truly bothered me was I made a true comment back to him and he made a joke back that I didn't like. I didn't say anything back about that either. So the true thing maybe he just wanted me to laugh. That is why I don't like text messaging it confuses me, I need to hear and see the true emotions. Which I can say something to him about that later.

I always look at texting as a short message to someone not a open chat because it can be confusing to know the tone of the voice , and calling someone is much better as you stated you can hear there true emotions.

I see nothing wrong with that and I am sure he would agree as well .

^This

For me it's so easy to misinterpret someone's intentions via text.

Agree, I had just talked to him on the phone; it was great.
