In a platonic way and not have people freak out? I wouldn't even know who to ask but I know I need it badly. Is that childish or weird?

Those feelings are normal for all of us. Do not be afraid to ask those you trust. Just be straight forward about it.

Jenni, human beings have a built in need for human contact. Do you have a friend you could plain out ask for a hug? I have a friend that I can "just" tell "I need a hug."
