In a platonic way and not have people freak out? I wouldn't even know who to ask but I know I need it badly. Is that childish or weird?

First thing I do is find sensitive, caring people. A yoga teacher, a close friend or
I look up on Psych Central - Trusted mental health, depression, bipolar, ADHD & psychology information. and ask a question

Here is one that says there is benefit to imagining someone is hugging you. You could imagine a religious figure like the Dalai Lama or Oprah.

Those feelings are normal for all of us. Do not be afraid to ask those you trust. Just be straight forward about it.

It is not childish to want a hug. We are creatures that thrive on touch. *hugs*

Jenni, human beings have a built in need for human contact. Do you have a friend you could plain out ask for a hug? I have a friend that I can "just" tell "I need a hug."
