He makes a big deal out of something small and I know later he'll realize he was doing so ( he's said so himself he's the crazy one in this relationship, has some issues from past bad relationships as well as being abuse by his mom growing up)but in the mean time it's just irritating because I have to wait for him to finish sulking- or sleeping, as I hear him snoring lightly in the other room. Whatever.

Yeah, he has made improvements, He's making efforts. He just has his moments where he can't be reasoned with, and then later he feels bad, and embarrassed because he likes to pride himself in being logical. He was also tired today, end of the day- usually when guys can't be more irritable in general (read this article : Male PMS: The Irritable Male Syndrome)

Yeah, I couldn't find the exact article I read where it was talking about mens cycles being 24 hrs and how between 3-9 pm men are more irritable, especially if they aren't eating healthy or sleeping enough . . .

Can you and him come up with a Code word... Something you can agree on that you can use when he gets outta hand and needs a reality check when hes not thinking clearly...
My husband and I had trouble my his boys and my daughter getting along. They came up with the word "splat" when someone used that word that meant they all had to walk away and talk about it later... they were age 10-15.. Didnt stop all the bullshyt but was helpful.
