I'm 56 and just joined a Curves near me for health reasons. The woman in charge is very nice and introduced me to a few of the regulars and was telling me as I was leaving that people get to meeting each other and there are a lot of members from my neighborhood and after awhile you come in together, etc. It was very comfortable because every woman I saw looked "like" me in size, shape, age, etc.
Anyway, the woman I was introduced to who was leaving a little after I had come in, she was going with friends to play Bingo some place and was a regular at it; apparently too this Bingo you "win" but there aren't big prizes or anything. I'm sitting here thinking I don't ever want to be so bored, old, whatever it is that I enjoy spending the day playing Bingo! Do I? Is it going to come to that, that I can't find anything more interesting/relaxing to do that I spend hours playing Bingo? Has me a bit scared that I'm going to meet some women and they'll ask me to come along and I'll go, just to be with other women and pretend I have "friends"?

I'm 22 and I like playing bingo! I don't think anything like that makes you "old." Especially since you are obviously active, going to Curves.

Hi, Perna!
I'm 56 also, and recoil at the idea of playing Bingo! I think there are better ways to spend one's time, even alone! Now, I know many people enjoy it, but I have so many other things that need doing. Patty |

Okay, now I've been to Curves twice. When you leave you get a "dollar" to save up for teeshirts. On your third time a week (what they want you to do) you get $5 so I will, hopefully, "earn" $7 a week. The teeshirt I want costs something like $400 but. . . heck, that's a fun enough game to play.
But yesterday I almost didn't get my dollar because I wasn't wearing any purple! Huh? Apparently I have to read the special calendar and do the little things on it. I hope I didn't throw it away :-) I did meet more people but now I'm worried because I won't be able to remember their names; the woman running it was Jean (so I have Carol on Mondays, Jean yesterday and apparently I have "Barb" tomorrow) and another nice customer named Lorraine but some woman recognized me from Monday and I don't remember her name :-(

perna, Bingo? LOL My dad's second home was the Bingo hall, his moods depended on if he were going that day or not and if he won or not. I went a couple of times and really didn't take to it. To mind numbing for me plus those bigggggggggggg marker pens LOL
