This may seem a bit dramatic but I was wondering if many other people feel like this.

So far in my life people that I've liked haven't liked me back and some people that I don't like do. I kind of feel like I'm doomed to end up alone, either that or super unlucky. Probably doesn't help I also only have one proper friend.

Pretty sure my biggest fear is being alone and after years of trying to combat it, I've just sorta given up and accepted it.

Quite a lot of people I've spoken to have just decided to completely stop talking to me out of nowhere and a few people I've been intimate with have just turned around and shut me out, makes me feel a bit worthless at times.

I feel that way too. I'm 23 going on 24, still a virgin. Only been in relationship once. Everyone I've made friends with seem to have friends far more important than me. I mean those whom I felt really close too. I also have this fear of being alone forever

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've only been in a relationship once too. My "friends" will often do stuff without me and sometimes even my closest friend does too.

I really hate the fear, it makes me wonder if I'm doing something wrong in life.

The danger when we are faced with this is settling when we do encounter someone interested. I fell into that trap and ended up in a loveless marriage of 16 years.

Being alone is the worst aspect of mental illness I think. Sometimes I still feel alone even when surrounded by people. I've live most of my 49 years feeling alone and it terrifies me that I might live another exactly the same.

Yeah everyone told me I was crazy not to like one of the people that liked me, I thought so too. I tried multiple times but it just wasn't for me.

It definitely does amplify other problems you may have, I often just ponder about things for ages when instead I could be with people but oh well. I'm glad I'm not alone in this and other people feel the same way

Are we talking about friendships in general or specifically about potential romances? When I mentioned settling I was directing that at both situations.

I wonder, would you consider yourself socially akward maybe?

Hey sorry I haven't been able to get on for a few days A bit of both really, don't seem to have much luck with either haha.

I am a bit socially awkward I think. I'm quite weird compared to most people :P Well I'm not sure if thats the right word, I'm quite a confident person and express myself a lot where as most people I've met don't. Friends and family think I'm quite a happy and funny person but people I didn't really know at school always thought I was weird.
