I admit that I trust too easily, and say too much. I wrote a huge post but deleted it all. So I'll try again and leave it shorter. Well if anyone read my recent posts about the work place then you know there's one girl I don't get a long with. Well I confided in a different girl ad told her I was stressed at home. End of story. Girl that doesn't like me went and msgs my bf's mom on fb and tells her that I wanted to leave my bf! One, why is she getting into my personal life and 2, why would she lie? My bf says to let it go but I'm so PISSED right now. Lately I've been on a mission to stop letting people walk on me so that part of me wants to message her and say something. I want to tell her to stay out of my personal like and to stop telling my future mother and law things about me! What do I do?!

Very few people at work are your friends. Let it go and be more mindful when sharing next time. You got the lesson, be compassionate with yourself.

I agree with rouge198.
However, I would say that even friends talk. You have to learn which friends, if any, you can confide in. I have some friends that I have known for a long time and whom I really like and have a lot of fun with, however, I know my limits with them. I know what I can and can't tell them. It doesn't make them any less of a friend, it just means that everybody is different and I know which friends love to talk even when it's not malicious. They just love to talk. Don't respond and don't mention anything about it again to anyone. Let it die out. When people give things life, it tends to look suspicious which starts to make people wonder if there was any truth in the rumor. And yes, people do just make up lies. I couldn't believe it either until I experienced it myself. It baffles me how someone can just make up something. It's not in my character so I will never understand it. I just know that those people are out there. |

I just find it so immature that this girl who barely knows me, is trying so hard to ruin my home life. She use to work with my bf and his mom like 15 years ago and that's actually how I got this job. She seems very territorial at work and just straight up rude to me. I've tried to kill her with kindness but at this point, that's out the window. I don't know how I'm supposed to work with her tomorrow without spitting in her face! Yea, I'm pretty mad still.

So I need to take tonight and calm down. Walk in tomorrow with a smile on my face and remember that I'm not there to make friends, or enemies

Right you are! Detached-&-Professional Miz-Biz-Face sounds like it might be the way to go with this person. She sounds highly territorial & pathologically competitive. So sorry you're having to deal with such a childish attitude (& actions!) from her! Take care ![]() |
