At 1 am this morning, my husband just got home from visiting a "friend". I actually thought he'd be find for the amend so I was surprised to see him home. Anyway, he wants me to go to the back with him this morning ace sign papers to remove my name from our joint bank account. Should I do this? I am planning on leaving him as soon as I can afford to do so. Thanks in advance for any help.

If it's eliminating your access to any finances at all, then no.

You should not do any such thing until you have spoken to an attorney.

If you have any hard-earned money in that account, then hell no! You will have no legal access to it! Even if that isn't the case, it is your joint bank account. Do you have your own account or means of gaining access to finances? Nope. If it were me, I'd immediately ask what he was up to, and then go find myself a lawyer.

I agree with the others. Do not do anything without talking to an attorney.
