I was always afraid of what would happen if my mother didn't approve of my identity so I decided I was done with lying to myself and I cut my hair short. in a spir of the moment it came into my head to cut my hair and I did it it was like this weight came off of my soul and shoulders. All this sadness, fear of being rejected for being who i am came off my shoulders it was like I didn't need that long hair to hide who i am anymore. I can step up out of the darkness and into the sun. I just can't believe something as simple as that would make me remember what I wanted in life and who I am. It was like a light switch came on and i remembered my true identity.

My parents always insisted I cut my hair short. I don't know why. I have nice hair. And as a minor I couldn't really say much. As soon as I turned 18 I grew my hair long. Yes something as simple as that makes you feel like your own person doing your own thing.
