i'm feeling rather hurt tonight...i just found out from my mother (who has no tact at all and i have never gotten along with) that my aunt was in my town last week (we live at opposite ends of the country so we rarely see each other) for work and she did not bother to get in touch with me at all! i feel like that's so rude and it makes me feel really rejected and insignificant, especially as i do feel quite a bond with her...u think she would've wanted to catch up, i mean ok, maybe she was too busy or something, but if that's the case why didn't she keep quiet about the fact that she was down here (i.e. by NOT telling my immediate family about it knowing full well it would eventually get back to me) and be a bit more careful in ignoring me as to not to offend??!! i don't know, sometimes i think i belong to possibly the most tactless, insensitive family on this planet (i probly don't, i know, but it does feel that way sometimes!!)

I am sorry that your family (mother) has done this too....... but from past experience myself I would say "to speak up" for if they do not know how you feel about what was done it will only continue on in the future.

BTW... it took me 5-6 years to finally get across to my family, but it was worth it in the end.

Good Luck...... feeling rejected by family :(

Sorry that u feel that way.I feel the same way about my family. Most of my depression problems is because of family problems.Have u talked about this with your T?I have talked about some stuff and it has helped.I hope things get better for ya.

<font color="#000088">I'm sorry your family did that to you. My family does the same thing to me, so I understand where you're coming from. It really does hurt, and they don't seem to realize it, because it seems that they are only thinking about themselves. It's very hard to deal with having family problems like that, and many other problems within families. I really believe that it is a lot of our family problems that play a major role in our problems with depression, like UCLAfan mentioned, and Mental Illnesses all together, including, yet especially Personality Disorders!
But I really hope that your family comes around eventually, and stops doing these things to you, it really isn't fair to you to have deal with the ignorance of a family like that! Just know you're not alone in this, my family is the same way! I hope you can deal with your's easier than I can deal with mine! Good luck!feeling rejected by family :( feeling rejected by family :(feeling rejected by family :( feeling rejected by family :(</font>
