My friend, texted me at 9pm the other day. I didn't check my phone until 1am. He has been opening my texts because they show up as "read" do you think he got mad at me because I did not answer his text right away?

No. Why do you think he would be mad? I don't expect anyone to respond to my text unless it's normal business hours. People are busy or sleeping at night.

Well, given the short explanation it's not enough to be mad, specially if there isn't any reason, people (or at least the ones i know incluiding me) don't get mad all of a sudden. Cheers!

You're far from the only one who doesn't reply to texts straight away. And given that you read it at 1am - there's no ways you're expected to reply at that time.

I do not expect immediate responses from texts, emails, and social media contact. I consider it rude for people to expect that of me.
Thanks for this!

You were sleeping.. I don't think it's necessary to reply immediately.

Ask him. or wait until he states that he's mad at you. Don't assume or guess what people are thinking.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
