Sometimes, when I haven't talked to anyone in a while, I forget how much people hate me. The last time I talked to someone was October, so in my down time away from people I forgot how much everyone hates me. As a result I started feeling pretty good about myself and two days ago I make the mistake of sharing some good news. Now everyone hates me again, so I'm at home trying to hide from everyone while it all blows over.

It's easy to remember to never, ever, share any bad news, but how do you manage to remind youselves not to share good news either? Forgetting how much people hate me has been a problem my whole life.
Hugs from:
Marylin

Sometimes I think they all just live in my head, as everything else. Heads are mysterious things. Im an alien, alienated so alien I go.
This is the first time I see your post and I dont hate you.
Forget about the news. Times is spirals as Marilyn said.

I am sorry wrigh, that sounds pretty harsh. Maybe next time you have news, good or bad you could tell it here.
There are some very good listeners here.

Yeah, there is a lot of misunderstanding between people. I came here because I was feeling, too, like I can't just open up to someone without unsettling repercussions. I wish it were easier not to hurt. Your post helped me feel better, and I hope something comforting comes to you.

I meant to add that I like Erebos' suggestion to tell it here. There are many ways to work on feeling better. We don't have to give up and accept a fate we are unhappy with.

Thanks everyone. I'm on my phone, which won't let me click the 'Thanks' or 'Hugs' buttons.

So, the good news is that I just got offered a 3 book contract.

I was so excited that I accidently told some people at work and posted it on facebook. Nothing snotty, just, "Great News, a publisher has picked up my trilogy. He says it should be available for purchase this fall!"

Now my family won't speak to me because my mom gets mad whenever 'I try to be better than my brother.' All my coworkers are mad and said if I had time to write a trilogy then I must be slacking off at work. I'm not slacking, I just don't have TV or friends, so I write during all my freetime.

I'm sorry to hear that the people around you aren't being supportive when you've put a lot of time and effort into something and get some good news from it. It's natural to want to share your good news with people and really you should be able to without the reaction you got.

I want to say well done! I'm happy that a publisher offered you a contract and I hope it all goes well and you're able to make a big success from your books.
