Thank you for sharing the article. I live with a manipulative person and I knew that....didn't know I was losing important and necessary parts of my brain from long term exposure. I will take more care in the future.

I have a very toxic father. Unfortunately I can't avoid him because my parents are together and my mother is very ill.

I try to do what my therapist told me "if you cannot completely
Avoid toxic people especially if they need your help, limit interaction with them, don't engage, do what you need to do and don't let it bother you."

I was just cleaning their house (my mom is too sick and my dad doesn't clean anything) and he was ranting about something. I ignored it. He then sent mass text to me and my brother ranting about something. I plan on ignoring it.

Toxic people can't do much to us when we don't engage.

Now if toxic people aren't family then there is no need to be around them at all. Like zero reason

Thanks for passing on this advice. It's my mom that is toxic and I live with her.
