He's more than a friend, but less than a boyfriend. Would calling him my "almost" boyfriend be a good term?

Almost a boyfriend? Then almost fiancée or almost husband? One either is or he isn't. Call him good or close friend

Kiss ? Or his wanting more? Maybe he wants a FWB( friends with benefits)

As mentioned he is or is not a boyfriend.

I will ask your ages as that might change advise your getting.

If he wants more FWB most likely then you just have to decide if you want the same .... if not then end this option for him. You might lose him in your life , but if you want more then you deserve better.
