I texted a woman in an online dating app with a direct message on her youthful looks and beautiful eyes. Along the message I told her we could share a smile together and continued to ask "how are you?".

I just remembered it and I thought "oh, why did I say that...".
Yet I have a coping mechanism of "If it felt fine at the moment, then it was ok", to avoid feeling anxious about it.

Or maybe I should feel bad about it, though I don't see a reason to since I had the positive intention to create a relationship.

I see nothing wrong with what you said. Would be a lovely compliment to a woman, it would be for me

I hope she responds positively. That was a nice compliment.

It was a nice compliment but maybe you are feeling anxious because you put yourself 'out there' and that makes you feel vulnerable? Just a guess. Anyway, I think practice might help you gain confidence.

That was a nice thing to say and should be just fine--it is unlikely but if she did find it offensive then she wouldn't be a good match for you. A girl who is not easily offended would be more fun to date.......

Depends on the person. Some people may find that flattering while others may find it creepy. I think you are fine though.

People get fed up with boring messages and I Think you have no reason to worry as it was a positive and nice message. I am sure that she will respond once she is back online... please don't set yourself up for sad times waiting for a reply. Women love banter and fun so that's always a good way to start when chatting on dating web sites, once you get to know them a little, then is a good time to mention what attracted you to them.. Good luck and hope she replies x
