Sometimes I get the feeling like I'm floating and everything is going in really slow motion(no, I'm not on drugs). What does this mean? Does anyone else get like this?

I sometimes get a floating feeling and things don't seem real, in my case it's dissociation (derealization usually but sometimes depersonalization). Usually this happens when I'm stressed...it seems like a way for the mind to try and cope. It doesn't feel fun though!

Sounds like disassociation.

I had that feeling once, that I remember. I never considered it could be disassociation but now I know it was.

For me depersonalizatiln was like I was watching myself in a movie. The first time it hit after the trsuma it scared me because I was on the piles of hay feeding the 30+ horses at the ranch & i got that floating feeling. Then someone asked me a question. I answered it but had no idea how I knew what to say because I felt like i was outside of myself watching life happen around me. It lasted a long time because my H wanted to stop at the grocery store on the way home & I just wsndered through the store just looking at everything from outside myself wayching myself folliw my H through the store.

Has happened many times after that when I get stressed.

In DBT it says that depersonalization/derealization & dissociation are actually coping behaviors for stress & arent a bad thing unless they get so bad that they make you non-functional.

It scared me so bad the first time it happened because I had no idea what was wrong with me & it wasnt the normal dizziness I got with the anorexia I was struggling with at the time also. I still dont like the feel & if im out, I will head for home ASAP so I feel safer...but knowing its not serious really helped
