I live family where I’m the family scapegoat. My mother is a narc and somewhat favors my sister because she enables her abusive behavior.

I feel it’s because I’m independent and likely to Succeed in life. It other words I’m the “deviant” in the family because I’m more willing to go out a achieve things. Unlike Mom and sister who get paralyzed with fear and give up I push against it. They expect success with little or no effort.

You sound more like the family success story than a scapegoat. Your mom and sister sound jealous of you, which makes them feel their own failures more. I’ve known plenty of people in my life like your mom and sister. Always trying to drag you down to make them feel better.

Keep doing what your doing! Surround yourself with people who are positive and uplifting.
