It’s seems like I consistently find myself in complicated circumstances when I am dating.

I have been going out with this girl from a dating sight. I have seen her 3 times in the past two weeks. The last time we went out (2 days ago) I found out that she had just moved out from living with her ex boyfriend. It’s been about a month since they’ve broken up. She has her own place now.

I do think she likes me, she is just playing it safe because she’s still processing things. She told me that she would like to continue to see me and get to know me better. I told her that I was ok with staying friends, hooking up, or getting to know her better to see if a relationship develops.

My gut tells me to play it safe but it seems like she wants me to push harder. She initially wanted me to come out to her neighborhood for a walk and food, then changed it to maybe coming out to where her family lives for our next meetup next weekend, and then followed up by saying “we’ll play it by ear.” She told me that she wasn’t looking for dating or romance, which is weird that she was on a dating website. She seems a little conflicted, not knowing what she wants, and not wanting to get hurt. But these are all assumptions.

I need some help, I am really confused.

She's still processing a break up. This has been resolved and we won't continue.

I personally would want nothing more than friendship if I was recently out of a relationship.

Are you willing to just be friends?

Thanks for replying Christina,

She just told me that she didn’t even want to be friends anymore because she is going through a roller coaster of emotions and didn’t want to put it on me. I have stepped back but mentioned that I understand the emotions that come with a breakup and until next time.

When I dated, my #1 rule was not to date someone who just broke up with their ex within a year. And definitely not anyone who was still living with their ex. Don't be pulled into someone's issues when they haven't dealt with it on their end.

As for the online girl, it would be a wise move not to get on her roller coaster of emotions. Some roller coasters can have you vomiting and sick for days ...

This is a free pass to get on a more pleasant ride in an amusement park filled with fun rides.

Yea, the first two went well and then all of this chaos came out like...vomit...like you referenced. It was especially scary because it was a complete flip from the first two times we had went out.
