I'm sorry, I don't really know what thread this should be going in...
But my sensory processing disorders... at least thats what I think they are... are acting up again... this time heavily... I'm having trouble telling the difference between friendship love and husband and wife love... friends tell eachother that they love eachother all the time, and so do married couples, so I'm having trouble telling the two apart... as you could expect, this is really terrifying me... like always, I know I'll always love my wife more than anything in existence, and I know that we are married, and that she's always here to hold me close and tell me how much she loves me... she's comforting me as much as she can... but I'm worried. I don't want to be scared... I don't know what to do... |

I have heard of at least four types or displays or feelings of love and/or affection: Eros (romantic), Storge (family), Philia (brotherly, neighborly or friendly), and Agape (divine). So at least in theory, something such as "Love ya!" from a friend and "I love you!" from a spouse, partner or mate are different things.

I dont think the problem is with your sensory processing disorder, it is more a problem of NOT knowing the DEFINITIONS.
The english language uses the term LOVE gar too loosley on top of not defining the different types of love....like "I love my truck" or "I love cake" doesnt fit into sny of the 4 Greek words used to degine the different loves between people (my dogs are family so its ok to include them into the STORGE (family)love definition. If you want to unferstand it better, CS Lewis wrote the book "The Four Loves" where a more in depth definition is written on EROS (romantic) STORGE (family) (pronounced stor-gay) PHILIA (friend/neighbor) AGAPE (divine/God's love) Honestly whrn we dont know the definitions how can anyone understand?
