does anyone else have abandonment issues? Are they actually possible to overcome?
most of my life I've kept people at bay, and so when they leave me, i dont much care. however i got sucked into the attachment aspect of therapy and i am finding myself terrified at the closeness feeling but even worse at the idea of him leaving my life sometime, and it could be years away he wants to work through it but i was just wondering if its even possible to do so? right now i just wanna run away and push him out of my life |

As difficult as it is, have faith that your therapist is a qualified professional who can help you with the insecurities that you are feeling. Whilst it may be easy in the short term to run away from therapy, in the long run, until you've resolved your feelings, you're only creating more heartache.

Hi DP, Well you made a big step when you chose to go to a therapist. If you feel you can trust this person and that their advise is helping you grow then yes there is a great chance you can get over you fear of being abandon. However like with any deep seeded feelings it will take work and time! __________________ People are like stained glass windows They sparkle and shine in the sun but when darkness hits their true beauty is revealed only when there is light within .
