I was just IP and met an older lady who had the same degree as me. She was very smart and had a high-paying Federal job. We ate all our meals together. I told her about some of my troubles: I was suicidal on ketamine a couple yrs ago and that I couldn't take care of myself. When she left she didn't even say goodbye. I'm baffled. Does she detest me or was it too much negativity?

I wouldn't take it personally. Both times I've been IP I made friends. Then I got out and the only thing I could think about was bolting before they changed their minds. Lol. Very seriously I am sure she didn't mean anything negative by it and it wasn't personal.

How did she leave exactly? Did she just got up and went away?

I wouldn't take it personally
when people leave ip they typically dont' want to keep ties related to their hospital stay

I was IP many times for a month at a time to begin with & met many people while IP. We even continued to connect in the weekly after care meetings but in tbe end, none of them were anything more than acquaintances of that season of life. Many connect while IP, but when leaving there are so many details to think about along with the transition....saying goodbye is usually low on the list unless the person is right there & they aren't focused on other important details.

Know it is hard when we connect wuth someone like that & it ends like that but it is more the norm than not
