Just a few moments ago I tried to ask my brother if he remembers a movie we watched as kids but he spoke over me started making a conversation with my dad, tried this two more times and the same thing happened, until I pointed it out.
This happens to me all of the time with them! The day before this I explained something to my dad (i was sitting right next to him) and then my brother said the exact same thing; so I obviously pointed out that I had just said that, to which my brother actually noticed and said "yeah, but for some reason he wasn't listening to you" It drives me mad like sometimes when I try to say something to him and he doesnt respond, I'll say it a couple of times but he will just snap and be like "WHAT MAN?!" So I usually don't bother now. Also, I always buy him CDs for his birthday because we have a similar music taste. I recently bought him an ELO cd. Last week he asked my brother (who doesnt listen to them) if he wanted to go with him to see them in concert, when I questioned why not me, he just did an awkward laugh because we're the type of family who just find it humorous to put each other down. I feel like I dont even have enough energy to be a part of this family, I don't even know what I'm supposed to do when they are being obnoxious, whether that be them calling me fat when im 9 stone or just ignoring the fact that I live among them and not just exist when they want to communicate with me. |

I relate. It's like you're in the moment and any unwanted interruptions derail where the remembrance was taking you. A pleasant place no doubt.
Unfortunately we sensitives experience rejection on a more deeper level and it's not their fault if the rest of them are boring selfish, insensitive robots. Have a great day |

I am sorry that your brother and Dad are being rude and not valuing you. Chances are that they will not change. Hope you can eventually move out and be with people who do value you.

I relate. My mother and brother haven't talked to me in years. My brother makes enough money. I just put up with it and hope that some day (which is near) I'll have it together enough to see them,

That's not nice it's like they treat you like your invisible . When I lived with parents etc , I was not ignored , the opposite , they bullied me , mostly my brother but also my step dad and my mum would laugh like she thought it was funny .
