All of them I come across want you to pay money and damn, last time did I that I ended up in whoozey relationship I wont no more of. Pretty much a rebound I only got hurt in the end. And I have this pattern to stay in relationships knowing I need to go but fall for the guilt trips and stay until the bitter blood bath!
Ugh..... WTH, be nice to meet someone and click and all go well other than the occasional relationship disagreements. Seems the dating sites are full of the crazies looking for something totally different yet they make it seems so in the beginning. Frustrating! |

You can meet as many “crazies” and get in as many “woozy” relationships anywhere else just as much as on dating sites. Dating sites just provide you with larger population to choose from

Maybe the problem is the kind of people you feel attracted to?

Well, there's lots of free sites out there really... But 95% of those free sites are spam sites filled with fake profiles and downright creepy folks. Online dating is all I can handle so I've been around the interwebz a lot trying to find better places.
eHarmony isn't free to message, but you can send questions for free. When you answer those questions you can choose to type in your own answer and give an email to talk more after. Sometimes they have free communication periods where you can send messages for free and in them can exchange emails to talk beyond that if you like. I've also tried the other big name sites like Match and Chemistry, but not recently. Back when I tried them you got to do next to nothing for free and I was unable to find anyone worth paying for. I've only avoided quick hookup sites like Tinder. If you're into geeky things I can recommend another site I recently found that is free to do everything on (unless you message a ton of people using up the free credits), but will spare you reading about that if it's not something you're interested in. You can try Googling something like "dating sites for -" where the "-" becomes whatever your main hobby is. That's how I found the site for geeky stuff. |

I am inclined to think there are more 'woozies' on the free sites. Someone who has paid has demonstrated they are serious about the process and, I believe, are then more likely to be sincere about themselves. That is not to say that 'woozies' don't exist but it is my feeling that free sites are more predatory. Also, the more personal information a site requires of you the more likely you are then to find a closer match. My suggestion is to investigate sites and stick with those that require a membership fee and have a comprehensive questionnaire.
