I really wish I understood this. I've settled for relationships simply because I didn't want to be alone. But I'm not sure why. I don't need a man for anything. I have a great job, make decent money, no financial worries, a house, car, health and I can hire out any repairs I need done. I've often told myself it was because I didn't want to go too long without sex. And its easier to have that when I'm in a relationship. But as soon as I get in a relationship and the sizzle dies, I start sabotaging it and tell myself it's better to be single. Then I get single and get lonely.
I see single people happy with little desire to have a mate and wish I could do that.

I think the need for companionship is a basic human need.
Maybe it's perception about happiness of those that have no desire for a mate? Maybe they lead purposeful driven lives? Keeping from being isolated?

Every human wants to have some companionship... perhaps not necessarely a partner, but even just friends. Perhaps you can start from making some friends?
Thanks for this!
