Has anyone known anyone who allowed others to do something but they don't like it when you do the same thing? For example, I have a coworker at work who allows others to talk to her even if she is doing something. Yet, if I do the same thing, she tells me to leave or is very short. I don't talk very much at work due to being isolated but I know that I'm really there to just work and make money. Just don't get why coworkers can be that way. I also knew people in the past who would allow others to make a joke but if I did then they would tell me to not do that again. Same goes for doing something in a more fast and effective way, even outside of work. Someone could find a new way of doing something and everyone loves it, even me. So others will start to do the same thing, but then if I start to do it, I get weird looks. Anyone get why this happens at times? Just confusing and weird. Always wondered if it was a popularity thing or if it meant they didn't like me.

I hate that! I had an old AA sponsor who had all these rules for meeting attendance and stuff like that, yet her other sponsee totally BS'ed her and never went to meetings. So I would catch it and the other person was given her blessings. needless to say she is not my sponsor now.

I don't see how 'let' has anything to do with this example. It is obvious the individual is friends with that other person yet, sorry to say it, doesn't wish to be friends with you. The fact she seems to be repeatedly telling you - and getting short tempered about it - tells me you are ignoring her wishes to be left alone. I think you need to respect her wishes. It is unfortunate you two can't get along and that you can't be on better terms but she has the right to choose not to do so. Hate this all you like but these are the things we must put up with all the time. You need to honour her request to not bother her. Besides, if she is acting in such fashion she isn't really worth your attention anyway.
