My family moved away from me about 10 years ago. I’ve been pretty much alone since. I haven’t met any of my nieces or nephews (except the older ones). Today I found out that my younger sister came through my city and didn’t even stop to say hello or let me know she was here. It really hurt me. I want to say something to her but I am very much a non confrontational person. I don’t know how to feel about it. We aren’t very close but I assumed that she would at least say hello so I could meet my niece and she could see her nieces. It makes me feel as if I don’t have family support, not just physically but emotionally and mentally too. Does it make sense to explain to her how hurt I am?

Have you ever written to your family, kept in touch at all with them?

It must’ve been hard to know that your sister was near and she didn’t visit you.
I wanted to ask you the same as @Open Eyes. Is it possible that for whatever reason, you or her were distant. I told you because I lived a pretty similar experience. I have been pretty distant from my siblings because of my psychological issues. I think they didn’t even know how to approach to me. I’m not saying this is your case. I’m stressing on the possibility that the relation went cold, without even have to blame anyone but the circumstances. I would look for the right moment when you calm and tell her what bothered you and ask her what happened? Sure there’s an explanation and you may both clear things up and get an approach.
