It was complete with f bombs in front of several customers. I'm a crew member at McDonald's and during one of my shifts, 2 hourly managers (A and B) started arguing and it broke into a full fledged verbal spewing. A is one level below GM and B just completed her manager training program. A takes lots of things personally and B just happened to not do something exactly the way A wanted. After their fight, A walked out and screamed "I ****in quit!" barely 2 hours into her shift. Another manager (C) ended up covering the remainder of her shift.

The GM, who was off that day, has been alerted of the incident and is expecting lots of customer complaints. What's gonna happen to the 2 managers? Some kind of a write up? I watched the whole thing unfold and idk if I ever wanna move up after seeing this incident.

I work in entirely different career field but we had an incident of someone cursing at people, he was written up and suspended for 3 days. He is being fired now actually, but not just for that one incident. Usually it’s an escalation. Warning, write up, suspension etc

I don’t know what policies you have, I’d think this person needs to be suspended with no pay.

Not sure about being fired but that’s a possibility. Usually retail and food service has low tolerance for bad behavior in front of customers

That's what I was thinking. What happens to them as a result of their public fight is not your business. Sounds pretty unprofessional of them, though! Fighting in front of customers is a no no.

The worst part is their decibel level and f bombs. It's ok to curse in a conversation (away from customers) but not ok to curse someone out.

You don’t suppose to know. I only knew about that guy because he blabbed about it non stop. But management doesn’t suppose to share it

To be on the safe side, it is better not to curse on the job, ever. There may be someone somewhere in charge who will hear that, or hear about that, not say anything at the time, but use that to decide against giving you a good opportunity.

No idea, but it isn't your business anyway. Stay out of it and remain professional no matter what.

That's your warning to drop the subject with people from work. Don't mention it again to anyone, management or not.

I don’t know about your job but at my job certain people can get away with anything, while other people can’t. One person said “I’m not sucking **** to become manager.” In front of a manager. She didn’t know she was still in the room of course, and the only thing the manager said was “and that’s why your not manager.”

Ruby, I go along with others who said stay out of it. Don't involve yourself in it. Management does not like it when people not involved in a situation start poking around to find out more. I believe it's natural to be curious, but leave it alone. You'll find out eventually how it worked out.
