Personality is more important than beauty for anyone I would want to spend time with.
Personally being single is the best thing that happened to me after a 33 year bad marriage. I wouldn't even consider allowing anyone else to live in my house. Me & my critters.....& I have a very happy life. I socialize when I want & just chill at home when I want. I have a beautiful 10 acre farm that keeps me busy __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. We went everywhere together like this. I know the feeling. I started dating a guy who wouldn't leave me alone because I'm lonely. He's a "nice guy" but.... red flags.
anyway I'm reasonably happy single. guys say I'm beautiful well all guys care about is looks imo. they never liked me the person. it's always about my looks. then that wears off abuse starts. I'm just tired of trying. __________________ Son: 14, 12/15/2009 R.I.P. Daughter: 20 Diagnosis: Bipolar with Psychosis. Latuda 100 mgs. |

Aviza, I'm a guy. I won' t lie, looks are important to me....but that is not the most important aspect of a woman. I know some men just want to put another notch on the bedpost...but that isn't all men. I don't care how "beautiful" a woman is, if she isn't intelligent, sincere, truthful, caring, articulate, independent I'm not interested. I don't think I'm the only man that feels this way. BOM |

I've been told I'm so down to earth for someone who looks like me. sorry post hijack. I'm caring, generous, and a lot of good things. I just get crapped on.

Aviza,
I don't know you. I don't doubt what you say. I'm sorry you get crapped on. But it seems unfair to think all men would crap on you. That's like saying all women are just out for a man's money. I don't think either of the above are true. One of my ex-wives truly thought that if there were checks in the checkbook, there was also money there. She didn't work, but LOVED to spend the money I earned. I was married to her for 9 years. But you know what? I was the one that "chose" to get involved with her. I made that choice. I have to take responsibility for making that choice. BOM |

I also get abused and used by men so know what Aviza is talking about. I think we attract such people since we are too nice. I should be meaner, but it is not in my character. Men have walked all over me. I had enough and stopped seeing men for the past two months. I am more productive and at times happier. I don't need to waste my time on people who are not kind to me. I am doing better if not well.

BPforever,
I don't think it is a matter of you needing to be meaner, But I do think. you need to focus on learning how to establish standards and boundaries. When you meet a man, or anyone for that matter, if they violate those standards/boundaries you set, then you are probably better off without them in your life. If you have a counselor, this might be something they can help you with. Just my two cents worth.... BOM |

I am nice and let people walk all over me. You are right. I need to be firm and direct. But, I am not. So, I would rather be alone for now.

Nothing wrong with being alone if that is what you want.
I've been alone most of my life...even when I was married. I'm pretty good at being alone...most of the time. The key is to figure out what each of us truly want/need instead of what society or family or church or whatever tells us we need/want. We are individuals who can think for ourselves. We need to do so. BOM |
